Terms of Service
Last updated 10-21-2026
These terms apply when you use this website (the "Service"), which is run by parkclosures.com ("we", "us"). By using the Service or buying Pro you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
What the Service is
The Service shows alerts, closures and status information about U.S. National Park Service sites, taken from the National Park Service (NPS) public data feed, and can email you when a park's alerts change.
We are not the National Park Service and are not affiliated with it. Information is shown as the NPS publishes it and may be late, incomplete or wrong. Emails can be delayed or fail to arrive. Never rely on the Service alone for decisions about your safety or travel. Check nps.gov and the park itself before you go.
Your account
You don't need a password. Your account is your email address, and the links we email you (including the "manage" link) work as your key. Anyone who has one of those links can change or delete your subscriptions, so keep them private. You must give an email address you control.
Free and Pro plans
The Free plan lets you follow one park and email you when its alerts change. Pro, which is paid, lets you follow up to 10 parks, sends a daily digest email, and lets you embed a status widget on your own website. The current features and price are shown on our home page and at checkout. We may change features, and we will give existing Pro subscribers notice before the price of their subscription goes up.
Payments, renewal and cancelling
Pro is a subscription that is billed monthly or yearly, as you choose at checkout, and renews automatically until you cancel. Payments are handled by Stripe, which may act as the seller of record. Its terms apply to the payment, and we never see or store your card number. Taxes may be added where required.
You can cancel at any time using the link in your Stripe receipt or Stripe's customer portal. When you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the period you already paid for. After that your account returns to the Free plan, and if you follow more parks than the Free plan allows, we keep the oldest and remove the rest. Deleting your data on this site does not cancel a Stripe subscription, so cancel first.
Refunds are covered in our Refund Policy.
Using the Service fairly
- Don't try to break, overload or get around the Service, including its rate limits.
- Don't use it to send email to people who haven't asked for it.
- Don't resell the Service or its data as your own product. Embedding the Pro widget on your own website is fine.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and may stop the Service at any time.
Third-party data and photos
Park information and photos come from the National Park Service and remain subject to the NPS's own terms. Photos are shown as published by the NPS.
No warranty, and limits on our responsibility
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without promises that it will be accurate, uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses from missed, late or wrong alerts, and our total responsibility for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing here limits rights you have under the law that can't be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the new terms.
